After a lengthy discussion at the January 2001 Annual Members Meeting, the Board of Directors approved a motion during its February 2001 meeting to ban all motorized vehicles that are not registered or need a license. The restriction covers all motorized vehicles, including electric-powered types.

The official rule became effective March 12, 2001 and reads as follows:

Internal-combustion powered vehicles including, but not limited to, go-carts, go-peds, all-terrain vehicles, dirt bikes, trail bikes, or any other unregistered vehicles are excluded from use on the common areas of Islesworth.
