Landscaping matters
The landscaping company replaced all of the ligustrum trees along the
front wall at not additional cost to Islesworth. The trees had died
because of too much water.
Board president Dennis Rohan said he is going to ask the county to get
involved to get the berm along Sunset Trail re-graded to our satisfaction.
Budget discussion
Residents voted to approve an increase in the maintenance fee to $365
per quarter.
Many nice things have been done in the community this past year and the homeowners association
would like to be able to continue in the same vein. Many landscaping
improvements were made, a new pump station was installed at a cost of
$6,000, the front wall was painted and new street signs installed.
Also, as reported last month, electricity costs will rise 17
percent; the bulk cable fee will rise 6 percent; and insurance likely will
increase by 20 percent.
Residents in attendance agreed that the community cannot keep up with
maintenance and improvements with only the 5 percent
increase allowed under the HOA bylaws. This 5 percent increase would have produced a quarterly fee of $323.
Thus, residents voted to increase the fee to $365 per quarter.
