The following summary is provided by Diane Tomasik,
resident and Webmaster.
President's and Manager's reports
A replacement piece for the broken playground slide
will be installed after delivery, due later this month.
Mulch in the playground area was delivered and spread,
thanks to residents Rick Rhodes and Tom Kraft. Mulch for the rest of the
common ground area is being negotiated with the county. It will be mulch
that's processed at the county landfill.
The on-again, off-again front lights will be addressed
March 9, when a lighting contractor is scheduled to fix the problem.
Property manager Jerry Zalben reported on the bids
received so far on repaving the Islesworth streets. One or two more bids are expected. The work
is for approximately 16,000 square yards, and includes 32 manholes, 8
water valves, 13 stop sign bars, and 19 blue reflectors. Mr. Zalben noted
that the unit pricing and measurements have been varying among the
bidders. Also, asphalt contractors are very busy right now, and our job is
relatively small. He recommends that Islesworth wait until the market
cools down to try to get the work done.
Architectural Review Committee report
The ARC noted noted again that shrubs planted in the drainage easement between lots 103 and
104 must be removed. Planting should not be done in the drainage or utility
easements because it could damage underground pipes or cables.
The ARC also re-emphasized that residents who want to replace their garage door window
inserts must match the existing pattern.
Landscape Committee formed
Members of a new Landscape Committee were appointed.
The panel will be led by board vice president Jen Jeransky, and its
members will include Dianne Buglion, Rick Rhodes, Jody Armstrong, and Dan
Strohmeier. They are tasked with looking for hardier and more attractive
plantings than what Pulte put in. The committee will make recommendations
on what can be done first that will fit in that budget.
