Following is a summary of the meeting, written by resident and Webmaster Diane Tomasik.
New committees
A Welcoming Committee was formed, to be led by
resident Cherie Legein. Appointments to the Design Review Development Committee,
led by resident Phil Jacobus, were made.
No Outlet sign
The Board is going to look into how much it would cost
to put a "no outlet" sign up on Captiva Court. A resident
requested the sign be placed at the street entrance to discourage traffic
that thinks the road is a short-cut.
Garage sale signs
A question was raised about whether residents can
place garage sale signs on the easement on 714. The Board ruled that
because the Homeowners Association maintains that area, garage sale signs
-- or any kind of sign -- cannot be placed there. HOA restrictions bar any
kind of sign on HOA common property. (Please see the Rules
and Regulations section for more information.)
New property manager sought
Connie Robinson noted that she will no longer be the
property manager for Islesworth, effective Dec. 31. The Board said it is
interviewing replacements. Connie has handled Islesworth matters since
June 15, 2002, when Applied Concepts of Martin County took over management
of the HOA.
Annual meeting preview
The Board reminded attendees that the next meeting --
Jan. 27, 2003 -- would be the annual organizational meeting during which
residents will elect the Board members for the coming year. Residents who
are interested in running for the board should read the information on the
Jan. 27 meetings info page.
